After 12 weeks of awesomeness and fun, Mekakucity Actors has come to an end. *sighs sadly* Not going to lie, it was a little bit of an anticlimax but there were still some super fun moments, even if this episode, as only Mekakucity Actors knows how to do, threw me for a loop and confused me more than once. Nevertheless, I’m going to miss these guys and I really wish this show had been longer! They’d have been able to cover so much more in regards to each character, all of whom are just such brilliant characters. But, alas, what’s done is done, and on with the show!

Probably the best episode ever of this series – so far in any case. It felt like the final stretch of a compass, bringing everything full circle and really went ‘back’ to the good, old Mekakucity days where a single episode had a healthy helping of drama, laughter, music and colour. Questions are finally answered and the gang is finally together at last. I have a feeling the finale is going to be one heck of a bang.

This was a much better episode than the previous one, although there are still a whole load of confusion regarding the snakes and the monster’s story. Also, how the heck did Seto manage to get lost in the forest and end up at Marry’s place? Suspension of disbelief only drives a story so far…Nevertheless, quite a dramatic episode and very sad in some parts, adorable in others.

Unfortunately one of the less interesting episodes – it was more of a filler than anything – where the most intriguing plot-twist came right at the end. I completely understand the way of doing things but…eh, it just wasn’t quite on par with the rest of the episodes I’ve seen so far. Nonetheless, there was some prettiness – and some so not prettiness – to be had.

WOW this episode. Just…wow. It was by no means an iconic episode – you get those every once in a while with shows like Death Note and Gundam 00 and the like but what I adore about Mekakucity Actors is its ability to be unapologetically artsy and complex but in this delightfully understated sort of way to deliver pretty profound blows but in such a unique sort of way. This show is like an onion that’s slowly peeling back its layers and revealing more background and plot and craziness with each episode. The highlight of this show, for me, though, was Shintaro because he’s got to be the most interesting character in this show and I just want more of him.

Yet another visually and emotionally stunning episode from Mekakucity Actors, and I just feel like week after week I’m loving this series even more, despite the crazy number of mysteries and questions going on. It was quite a nostalgic episode, this week, coupled with a good dose of drama – all the good stuff indeed, that makes this show such a pleasure to watch!

This episode was made of awesomeness and doubly so for me because it focused a whole lot on something I take very seriously: gaming. Even better than that, though, was the fact that there was so much going on in this episode and a whole bunch of questions answered, which inevitably led to even more questions asked. But this was indeed a very cool episode and a whole lot of fun to watch, even though this show has a knack for segueing so swiftly into something pretty painful.

I loooooved this episode and it feels like every week Mekakucity Actors gets more and more colourful and more and more hilarious and in this episode, we can say finally, everyone’s met everyone else in some capacity. Also, the mystery of the girl with the red scarf who’s always talking to Shintaro at the beginning is finally semi-solved but with that comes a whole new array of questions that need to be answered. This show gets so much better week after week and it really is one of those gems that you either love or hate and I do believe my sentiments about this show are pretty obvious.

Mekakucity Actors have reverted to the confusion and heightened level of abstraction as the first two episodes, but there was something incredibly stunning, beautiful and horrific about this episode that I really enjoyed. There was a kind of maturity to this episode that the previous ones didn’t have, making it doubly disturbing because of just how young the main character, Amamiya Hibiya was, and the rather awful things he had to experience in the latter quarter of the episode. Much craziness to be had.

This was an incredible episode and possible the best episode amongst all my favourite shows this week! So much happened, the plot really started to kick off and we finally got to know about the ragtag group of colourful and interesting characters and why they’re being pulled together. But don’t let the actual presence of a plot fool you – this was every bit as delightfully abstract and disjointed as the previous episodes and so still keeps up with the theme of haphazard time fragments and patchy conversations.
