自分を好きになって…完成!!フリープログラム – Love Yourself… Achieved!! The Free Program
Stepping up on the fanservice for us squealing screencapping fangirls~
The episode opens to Yuri oversleeping for his first every practice session with Viktor. To be fair, he did spend the entire night before the competition practising at Minako-sensei’s studio so the fact that he overslept till almost 9pm wasn’t that bad I guess? I would have left in a huff after 30 minutes and make sure that Yuri won’t get to forget this until the day he dies but Viktor just gave his heart-melting smile and let things go. Wow, how nice can this guy get? You would usually imagine such a good-looking world champion to be more of a jerk or at least be imperfect in some ways but no, not Viktor. I mean, he even got Suwabe‘s voice, just how perfect can this guy get?!
Shortly after the first practice session, we’ve got the obligatory onsen scene checked – not hard to, since Yuri basically lives in an inn with onsen. The onsen scene featured a few close-ups between the two, along with unbashed nudity from Viktor and some fondling around. It’s important to note, however, that they were discussing rather serious matters regarding Yuri’s skating during the whole scene. It might be harder to convince the bystanders outside of the outdoor onsen area, as they could only see the two fooling around. Yes, cover that little boy’s eyes!
It’s quite amazing that Yuri!!! On Ice manages to fit in fanservice and comedy while still keeping the pace of the show going well. We soon move on to check out what Yurio’s been up to, and that is – replying his new friend Yuko’s text messages while doing a standing split. He was messing around with one of his female rink mates when coach Yakov found him. There’s not time to waste, with the Grand Prix Finale creeping up and Viktor coaching someone else to be the champion. We were introduced to a seriously scary-looking oba-san, Lilia, who’s the former prima ballerina from a very prestigious place. Basically, Lilia is going to become Yurio’s new coach and up his game against rival Yuri. I instinctively labelled Lilia as the bad person and a threat to our Yuri but I guess we’ll see how things go. Lilia took charge immediately, ordering Yurio to discard his soul in order to win the championships, as well as making both Yurio and Yakov move into her estate with her for intensive training. Wow, we’re going all out to win aren’t we?
On the other hand, Yuri seems to be having a much easier time with Viktor. Their focus seemed to be more on finding Yuri, letting him find his own music and style for the next routine. This involved some persistent bugging from Viktor, a
date *cough* walk by the beach, an offer from Viktor to be Yuri’s lover *sparkles* before Yuri finally got the confidence to believe in himself and his choice of music. The rest of the episode went by in a beautiful blur, with both Yuris practising really hard in their own ways and the announcement of grouping for the Grand Prix Finale. I get that they’re not revealing Yuri’s music now to keep us in suspense, but I’m dying to hear what it could be and what sort of routine he choreographed for it!
I’m guessing that we’ll see Yuri’s competition against the other Japanese skaters in the next episode? Excites for more beautiful skating and lovely music!
