#8: リア充男子 – “Satisfied with his real (offline) life” danshi
Well well well… truth be told, this was not entirely bad.
It is time for the チャラ男 (flirt / playboy) type to sweet talk the ladies. And lo and behold, Shimazaki Nobunaga did not use his whimsical, come hither Free! voice! It came as a surprise that out of all the seiyuus in the cast list, Shimazaki ended up voicing this character, given that he pretty much uses the same register and tone most of the time (think swishy from Free!, what’s-his-name who lets a mermaid live in his bathtub in Orenchi, Furuya from Diamond no Ace, and most recently, the bro-est of bros, Suna in Ore Monogatari).
In fact, the only other time we heard him sounding completely different from his usual was when he played the total arse of a character in Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji. In that show, he was the very embodiment of pompous, and this time round he has once again delivered (and with A-star quality at that!). I guess it is because this tone of his is so rare that I find it quite the treat, but I enjoyed the way he was talking up the ladies (or rather, the lady.. er, you. Uh I mean, the listener).
This episode, we finally deviate from the blushing streak that the astronomy boy (or was it the music boy…?) started. Instead of shyness, this boy gave us a whole new range of facial expressions – the winking (of course.. *rolls eyes*); the bit with the popsicle; and that face at 2:00… hahaha oh gosh that was so not pretty. However, the thing that really gave me the giggles was the amount of confidence that this playboy exuded. He had absolutely no shame, inviting a girl to skip lectures to take a nap on the grass in school. Tsk… oh you sweet sweet deluded naïve little thing, you might wish to reconsider, because I don’t suppose you will get very far with the girl if the both of you don’t do well in school (because of your suggestion for a great escapade) on top of calling her weird.
