Oh my goodness, that was Matsuoka Yoshitsugu!!!

The supposedly lady editor who was yelling at Izumi over the telephone? Yes, that was Matsuoka! He has done gender bender roles before (Sytry in Makai Ouji) but who’d have thought that he would revisit them so soon! Considering that this dude is like… the Harem master!

Pardon the digression, Matsuoka’s kind of been the it seiyuu for us at koekara lately, and kiseki has been marathon-ing Shokugeki no Souma recently so… Couldn’t help an obligatory Matsuoka mention, heh. Anyway, back to this episode review proper.

The spotlight was on Inami and Takanashi, and their ever pretty much non-existent relationship. I previously bemoaned the ignorance of this Wagnaria gang, and I am sticking to that earlier statement. It is amazing how oblivious this crew is (other than the well-informed Souma that is) to not just the feelings of others, but to their own feelings as well! I can understand if Takanashi does not realise that Inami likes him, but to not be able to comprehend his own feelings for her? Well, I guess therein lies the humour that just works for Working!!!, because this series does the best plays on the blindingly obvious. Takanashi has been plagued with distress over his conflicted emotions for Inami, and while that in itself is exasperating for viewers (and Souma), I guess it is only natural, since cute is all that Takanashi has ever believed in.

I have to say, I love this development between the two characters – Inami went from bludgeoning Takanashi to liking him and thereby being able to control her penchant for hitting guys, while Takanashi managed to develop feelings for someone not little and cute. In their own way, these are massive milestones for the two, and having followed their growth all the way from season one, this sure is one proud viewer. Well done you two, well done!

In other news, Yusa Kouji’s character makes his reappearance. And while the character is still ever so creepy, it’s always lovely hearing Yusa’s voice ^^
