史上最大の夜 – The Greatest Night Ever
I absolutely hearts the interactions between Satou and Souma!
Souma has got to be the most annoyingly persistent co-worker ever. The way he goads Satou in that ever audacious tone of his (and here I thought I couldn’t love HiroC even more…) just puts a smile on my face. And it doesn’t help that the ever tsun Satou reacts with such stoic violence.. it is precisely because the personalities of these two chefs are at such polar opposites that the humour works. Satou and Souma are a fine tsukkomi/boke pair and the contrasting tones between HiroC and OnoD are absolutely priceless.
Building up from last week’s teaser, Satou finally finally asks Todoroki out! Yatta!! As Souma so delightfully squealed, yattaaaaaa~~~!! We do have to pay the dude some credit, without his constant pestering Satou might not have gathered up the courage to do so!
And so of course, the highlight this episode was their date. Yes, I believe that it is a date. Not a “date”, but a date. A date date *nods*
Poor Todoroki though, she was in such a pickle as she had not once been out drinking with people. And this was the root of much funniness this episode, because Todoroki goes on her little fact finding mission, which just results in epically hilarious proportions. Souma, despite being all knowing, proves to be useless because he has no friends to go drinking with. Kozue, always drunk, gives the most inappropriate and nonsensical “advice”. Poor Todoroki gets oppressed with all things ridiculous, as she diligently struggles to take in whatever Kozue shares with her.
However ill advised she might have been, their date turned out quite the success. For starters, both of them actually turned up. And they both got to drinks and dinner. I’d say it’s a win for Satou! The two even have a nice little chat after dinner, during which Todoroki asks for his company forever. Awww! And that wasn’t even the best part! Because Satou’s response!! Kyaaa~~~
