“Wakasa’s Home Alone Circumstances”
Thiiiis…was a pretty poor episode for a penultimate one in my opinion and hence I have little to write about it.
The entire thing was basically that Wakasa woke up to find himself home alone, with Tatsumi having yet to arrive home from work. Wakasa gets anxious about his mysterious absence and actually gets out of the tub and drags himself around the dark, empty apartment to look for him, his mind running amuck with worst-case – and rather ridiculous – scenarios, utterly afraid that he might never get to see Tatsumi again. He passes out after drying out from the lack of water, having had no energy to drag himself back into the bathtub again – it’s all very dramatic, really. But, lo and behold, Tatsumi returns from work, apologising for his lateness – which was all for Wakasa’s sake, by the way – and having had to carry him back into the tub all by his little self. He’s of course grateful and rather bashful that Wakasa got so worked up and worried about him, but makes Wakasa promise not to get out of the tub by himself next time – and possibly risk going belly up like a fish.
Don’t get me wrong; it was cute that Wakasa is so dependent on Tatsumi, and I guess this episode was trying to do that in four minutes. A difficult but altogether impossible task for these two, and in the end, despite the cake that Tatsumi ended up feeding Wakasa, it was just a little dull and boring after weeks of cuteness and fluffiness. This episode just sort of came out of nowhere and lacked the silliness and fluffiness of the previous episodes. You don’t just drop a serious note this late in the game and expect it to be in tune with the rest of the series.
So, well, sorry to say but it wasn’t bad, not the best, could have been better, thank you and good night.
