More comedy this episode as we get the “meet-the-family” test in the form of Sata’s possibly even more sadistic older sister, Sata Reika and boy is Erika in for an even harder time with her!
Does the ‘S’ in Sata stand for sadism or something? Sata Reika (Nakahara Mai) shows up unannounced in Tokyo to spend time with her dearest little brother… not! Duh. She’s in town sightseeing during the summer vacation. This is of course, at the exploitation of Kyouya, as anyone with an older sister can surely attest to muahahaha! Ok I wouldn’t go so far as to slap my brother… in public ha! But clearly you can see how traumatised Kyouya has been growing up with Reika that he uncharacteristically froze just seeing her from afar lol. Poor Kyouya had to escape to Takeru’s room, not knowing that his sister’s completely taking advantage of the situation by asking Erika out to accompany her. You ought to have known better Kyouya but most likely it’s because Kyouya’s never been in this sort of situation before – having a proper, serious girlfriend to introduce to the family albeit reluctantly, that he didn’t know what precautions to take such as not leaving your phone lying around so your sister can access the phone directory!
The Sata siblings are without a doubt, a good looking pair judging by the number of times Reika was flirted with and hit on by random guys. She gives points to everything and like San-chan said, Reika’s judgments are logical and fair really. So how many points will she give Erika, who’s imagination has gone up a level in this episode to hilarious effects. To be fair, Reika has a reason for her point system. Whereas Kyouya simply fakes a smile and pretends to be unavailable to buzz people off, Reika judges the guys/flies because she hates their half-hearted flirting, as though they think they can treat women like fools – Erika and Kyouya’s beginnings had her guilty as charged even as the tables got flipped on her almost immediately with the black prince. Thankfully the siblings don’t get along well because otherwise who’d know just what level of sadistic hijinks their combined efforts will materialise into…
As is common with older sisters, Reika doesn’t believe Kyouya’s capable of being the love of anyone’s life or that he’s not just a brat anymore. I really liked that Erika defended Kyouya even if it meant offending her future sister-in-law (just how far into the future is your imagination Erika?!). But would Kyouya do the same for her? I frickin’ fell for it when Kyouya declared he’d make it such that anyone talking bad about Erika would never be able to speak again >.< Damn sadistic black prince had to toy with Erika (and me) like that by retracting the declaration as false expectation. All in all though, I really enjoy the chemistry and banter the couple have and it seems even Reika nee-san agrees. Isn’t it great to see her stick up for her fellow girl by (again) slapping Kyouya for embarrassing his girlfriend as she unglamourously throws up? Next episode Kyouya brings his girl to meet his mom, all orchestrated by Reika of course. Is one sake bottle going to be enough Erika?!
