“The Special Circumstances Of My Bathtub”
It looked cute, pink, fluffy and had a merman in a bathtub. Of course I was going to check it out.
Originally a four-panel manga, this series is about a high-school boy named Tatsumi who comes across a sick and weakened Wakasa just off the banks of a river and decides to take him home with him. What starts out as an act of kindness turns into a very demanding, childish but loveable – and very pretty – merman in Tatsumi’s bathtub. This is their new life together and these are their shenanigans.
As part of the cast we’ve got Shimazaki Nobunaga as MC Tatsumi, in similar Haru-from-Free! fashion as a stoic, dark-haired teenager. Unlike Haru, though, he’s not the mermaid this time, nor does he seem to have a deep affinity for water. Still, Tatsumi seems like a sweet enough guy, if a bit of a pushover when it comes to Wakasa, who is voiced by first-timer Umehara Yuuichirou. It’s kind of exciting to see newbies, and seeing as each episode is only four minutes long, I guess it’s kind of like good experience for him. I look forward to seeing how he progresses~
Other voice actors who have yet to make an appearance are Suzuki Tatsuhisa, Hanae Natsuki and Tsuda Kenjirou, so with these experienced seiyuus, I’m sure they’ve got Yuuichirou’s back.
A cute cast and even cuter characters, I think this will be a nice wind-down show every Monday night and I’m quite content with seeing how this pans out.
