It’s the arrival of the ‘saviour’ of Minimum Holders. But with the arrival came the departure of another notable character in the series. Is this really the end of Hamatora?

With this episode, I think it is pretty much the end of both the Hamatora duo and the Hamatora series. Just what happened? What is going on?! I think that Hamatora has lost sight of what it really is trying to achieve and by this point, the story is so jumbled and unfocused that it is difficult to really follow or appreciate whatever they are throwing at us viewers. At episode 7, we are past the halfway point. And still, I am pretty sure NONE of us know why Art’s personality is so warped – there is no clear reason why Art wants to kill Nice. Because Nice is too strong? Well, what’s wrong with that if he isn’t going around killing non Minimum Holders? So strange…

As with what happened in the previous episode when the information broker warned Gasque not to get in too deep if he did not want his life cut short, he did the same with Nice and Murasaki this episode. That was very good warning, and as much as I am fairly surprised by the unfortunate turn of events, I can’t say that Murasaki’s death really blindsided us viewers. Because he was warned! And he went up against Art by himself, despite knowing full well that even with all four of them (Nice, Murasaki, Birthday and Ratio) against him, they still could not win. And again, unfortunate as Murasaki’s death may be, Hamatora has been so messy of late that I can’t bring myself to feel sad about it. It is just yet another event that happened, and nothing to be too concerned with.

Now that Murasaki is dead, yes I believe that he is in fact dead and that he will not miraculously come back to life the way Art did (because if he did, will we have a Hamatora season three with Murasaki now trying to kill Nice? *sighs*), Nice will definitely be thirsty for revenge. And I doubt he will be alone, because there is yet one other member who has not had her fair share of screen time – Hajime. She has been missing since the first episode, so hopefully we will get to see more of her. However, expectations have been completely wiped out with this episode. So I am just patiently waiting this series out, because I do not expect the final revelations will be satisfying. Ohwells~
