If it’s just a little – チョットダケナラ
Love is indeed blind. Ryouma not only becomes the first fan of Izumi’s avant-garde manga, he also becomes Izumi-sensei’s assistant during the rush to meet the deadline of the Kadoyama Manga competition. Oh Ryouma was such a cutie during this entire episode! With his puppy eyes when Izumi calls him a nuisance who only gets into the way, and his triple-kyas after a light peck at Izumi’s lips, Ryouma is definitely the star of this week’s Love Stage!!!
Izumi has been busy with the upcoming manga competition and he has nothing but the top prize set within his sights. It might seem rather out of his reach but Izumi doesn’t think so at all. While trying his hardest to work on his manga, Izumi had to deal with Ryouma’s persistent texts as well and there’s no blocking the messages from this super idol because! In this small world where everyone knows everyone else, Ryouma actually told both Shougo and Rei that something was wrong with Izumi after Izumi blocked him. You can imagine how the two over-protective guardians reacted when they thought that their beloved Izumi might be in grave danger. Oh dear, Izumi is such a baby of the family but I can’t help loving how spoiled he is. At the same time, it is rather hilarious that Ryouma seems to have the ability to get his way just by being earnest, be it texting Izumi or getting Izumi to let him tag along.
Just a little sidetrack here, but the fujoshi in me has always been hoping that Kuroi-kun holds some feelings for Izumi. You know, just saying.
Love is so delusional, that Ryouma confidently encourages Izumi on because “if I were the judge, you’d definitely win (the Kadoyama Grand Prize)”. I just love the reactions from the other club members. EH?! (ﾟДﾟ) (ﾟДﾟ) while Kuroi-kun maintains his poker face that we’re seeing a lot in this episode – the face that makes you think that he knows what is going on but chooses to not react. His earnest praise touched Izumi’s heart and our uke seems to be opening up his heart to Ryouma finally. Just how in love is Ryouma with Izumi? He even goes to the extent of dropping by Izumi’s house after a tiring day of work at 4am in the morning to help out with the manga. His positive responses towards any otaku-ness Izumi displays just made me go awww because that’s just how infatuated this super idol is with our Izumi.
After much hard work (and we got to learn more about the creation process of mangas), Izumi falls asleep from the exhaustion and kya kya kyaaa!! Ryouma gave the sleeping Izumi a light peck on the lips and gets over-excited about this new progress. Eguchi really held this part up soooo well that I’m glad he was the one doing Ryouma! Never thought I’d be kya-ing over a grown man going kya but that’s the power of a good voice actor for you. Although he has been summoned back to the office by his distraught manager (pfft Rei will always be the coolest manager ever), Ryouma couldn’t resist kissing Izumi a few more times. Seriously, what happened to the promise you made with Izumi huh? But we forgive you Ryouma, because you’re so adorable and because Izumi belongs to you anyway.
I’m half glad/relieved and half disappointed that we didn’t get much of the Shougo/Rei pair this episode, no prizes for guessing why. This is probably the most stress-free episode I’ve watched so far, you have no idea how much stress DAIGO places on me when all I had to do was to sit through his voice-acting. Although I really dislike his acting (if you call that acting), I had to remind myself all the time to be understanding towards this newbie. At the same time, I didn’t get my fix of Hirakawa during this episode. He was amaaaazing during the previous episodes; though I’m not really a fan of his, I have to say that his sudden outbursts made me laugh and fear him at the same time. Once again, we got to see that Rei isn’t a manager to mess with. What does he have up his sleeves this time, by being so helpful towards fans’ favourite Shougo?!
This episode of Love Stage!! has been a good 20 minutes of laughter and kya-ing. It really isn’t common for an anime to do better than the manga but I’m loving this adaptation so much! Happy watching everyone~
