The boys are finally presenting their play on stage in front of a mostly-female audience and despite their initial reluctance, they managed to do a decent job.
Well, their play is about a group of air stewards known as the Air Boys and their experiences in dealing with difficult travellers, their own fears and…some random other stuff like alien invasions and ghosts. I don’t even know. Basically the boys are sent on the flight as stewards as part of their pilot training, which means they’re basically doing something they didn’t sign up for. As expected, they’re trying to satisfy the customers while being as professional as they can despite some irritating customers. Through a very roundabout way they realise that everyone on board has their own dreams and lives and that the boys’ jobs isn’t about them but about doing the best they can do at what they’re doing and…it was just a really weird episode. Like, I completely get that it was a metaphor for their own lives; they’re aiming at being idols but are stuck doing a play instead and each of them has their own lives, dreams and difficulties that seep into their work life. But…I just found the episode kind of boring and odd and what the heck was the point in including an alien invasion in the script? I guess it’s supposed to be practice or whatever; acting in the weirdest circumstances and all that but still, dude. This episode was so far left field that I actually skipped through a bit because it was so dull.
I guess the only good part about the episode was when Amaki forgot his lines and Kira stepped in seamlessly and did a little ad libbing. It wasn’t impressive so much as a fourth wall breakage into Kira’s storyline in the previous episode, so that was kind of a nice touch.
The Characters/Episode Highlights
Meh. I don’t know, nothing I guess. It was all pretty dull. I mean there was some nice solidarity at the end, and when Amaki forgot his lines and Kira stepped in like the pro he was, but other than that I was so bored. XD
Whatever, dude. Stop watching now because I doubt it’s going to get any better. I shall continue on, though, and do my best to brave the sheer tediousness of this show. Who knows? It might surprise me, but I’m not really holding out for a miracle or anything…
